Terms of Service

Last updated: 11 March 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Credify ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including visitors, registered users, and anyone who accesses the platform.

2. Description of Service

Credify provides a document verification platform that allows users to generate cryptographic hashes (SHA-256) of their uploaded documents and share verification links or QR codes with third parties ("recruiters" or "verifiers"). The Service creates an auditable record of documents as they existed at the time of upload. Credify does not independently verify the authenticity, accuracy, or legality of the underlying documents.

3. User Responsibilities

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
  • You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of documents you upload.
  • You must not upload forged, fraudulent, misleading, or illegally obtained documents.
  • You must not impersonate another person or submit documents belonging to another individual.
  • You acknowledge that enabling public visibility of your documents exposes them to any person with your verification link. Credify bears no liability for how third parties use that information.
  • You must keep your account credentials confidential and notify us immediately of any unauthorised access.

4. No Verification Guarantee

Credify confirms that a document's hash matches the file uploaded at a given time. Credify does not verify, certify, or guarantee:

  • The identity of the person who uploaded the document.
  • The accuracy, authenticity, or legitimacy of the document's content.
  • Whether qualifications, employment history, or credentials described in documents are genuine.

Employers, recruiters, and other third parties who rely on Credify verification links do so at their own discretion and risk.

5. AI Review & Document Status

Credify reserves the right to review documents for AI-generated content, prohibited material, or policy violations. Documents may be flagged, suspended, or removed without prior notice. If a document is flagged as AI-generated, the user will be notified and given the opportunity to re-upload an original version. Credify's determination is final.

6. Payments & Refunds

The Service is provided on a one-time payment basis. All payments are processed securely via Stripe. All sales are final. We do not offer refunds except where required by applicable law (including UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 for digital content). If you believe you are entitled to a statutory refund, contact us at hostmateuk@gmail.com.

7. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to documents you upload. By uploading, you grant Credify a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display your documents solely for the purpose of providing the Service. Credify's branding, software, and platform are owned by Credify and may not be copied or used without written permission.

8. Prohibited Content

You must not upload content that:

  • Is forged, fraudulent, or misrepresentative.
  • Contains illegal material (e.g. content that violates UK law).
  • Infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party.
  • Includes sensitive personal data of third parties without their consent.
  • Is obscene, defamatory, or otherwise unlawful.

We reserve the right to remove any content and terminate accounts that violate these rules without refund.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Credify is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of employment opportunity, reputational harm, or reliance by third parties on verification results. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Credify, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or any document you upload.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for breach of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from your dashboard. Upon termination, your public profile and documents will no longer be accessible, though anonymised hash records may be retained for audit purposes.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via a banner in your dashboard. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
